Pupils Enjoy The Museum Roadshow
Staff across the Trust primaries have engaged with museum educators within the University Museums Cambridge. Collaboration has focused upon curriculum enrichment, incorporation of museum artefacts to enhance learning and the role of talk within the classroom. A significant milestone within the project came through the introduction of the Museum Roadshow. Across two dates in late May, the roadshow visited all three Trust primaries.
Children within Upper Key Stage Two benefitted from the opportunity to handle a host of artefacts, including - amongst others - a 'medieval' gauntlet, a sample of coprolite and objects linked with the slave trade. Additionally, children interacted with scientists from the zoology department and the museums' marketing director; this promoted aspiration and opened eyes to new career paths.
