Committed to Sport
Our school may be small but we can still achieve big things!
Sainsbury's School Games Mark
The Sainsbury's School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark.
In July 2014, Kennett Primary School were awarded the silver Games Mark.
Thank you to Mrs Taylor, who has shown a commitment and drive to support sport and our children who have worked hard to develop their skills in many sporting areas.
Madison, Peter, Oliver, Daniiel, Tru, and Toby make up our sports crew. They play a fundamental role in shaping and developing the School Games. Our crew join together to lead the planning and delivery of school sport clubs and intra school competitions. They also support Mrs Taylor to keep the sports equipment organised, accessible and in good condition.
Our Sports Crew are also Bronze Ambassadors, promoting the Olympic Values in sport. These are:
•determination •courage •equality •inspiration •friendship •respect •excellence
Keep an eye on the Sports display board, inside the main entrance of school, as sports news is updated regularly - even when our pupils take part in sport outside of school!
Summer 2014 Mrs Taylor won a bid that she put into Sport England for an activity area on our playground. In the Autumn of 2014, the activity area arrrived! This has helped us to create focused spaces on our playground for different sport activities.
